The India Game Developer Conference 2018: Biggest Showcase of Indian Games Development
Formerly known as the NASSCOM Game Developers Conference (NGDC), the India Game Developers Conference (IGDC) is an India?s popular platform where national and international professionals including developers get together with an aim to promote and explore the gaming industry. Also recognized as India?s premier game developers conference, the event is also seen as a very important part of growing efforts in order to showcase the India?s top work from the gaming segment.

This one of the largest gaming-focused event is held in the country every year under the supervision of NASSCOM. However, they decided to rebrand the conference for game developers as well as publishers for this year 2018. Apart from the name of conference, NGF awards have been similarly rebranded. The India Game Developer Conference 2018 was organized by NASSCOM in Hyderabad between December 4th - 5th 2018. The event witnessed many top notch experts who shared their own thoughts and knowledge of the industry.
 
"On the 10th anniversary of the conference we decided that it was time to rebrand NGDC to The India Game Developer Conference, to more accurately reflect a platform that has grown from strength to strength over the last decade, to become the must-attend conference for games in India," said chair of the IGDC advisory committee Rajesh Rao.

Many experts from the industry considered the event as one of the important of such showcases held in South Asia. It strengthens the Indian Gaming ecosystem by working on all its important aspects ranging from assisting developers with gaining valuable awareness and adapt new and challenging skills to helping developers get connected with investors and publishers that are quite difficult to reach.

Just like the last year, the seminar has been conducted by NASSCOM at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). The event witnessed new gaming product showcases, game releases as well as publisher meetups. More than 100 speakers from all across India and abroad attended the event, including Julian Widdows (Vice President at NaturalMotion), Francesco Antolini (Game Director at Avalanche Studios), Rana Daggubati (Investor and Actor of Tollywood), Jean-Philippe Pieuchot (Managing Director at Ubisoft India), Karan Gambhir (India Partnerships Lead at Google Play), Kate Edwords (CEO at Geogrify) and several other well-known crowd pullers involved in the gaming industry.
 
The conference organized last year had over 150 speakers, including Lauren Freeman (Director of External Development at Electronic Arts, Miika Ahonen (Product Manager at Rovio Entertainment) and Brett Bibby (VP of Engineering at Unity Technologies.
